We don't have baby-gates in our house, they only look like baby-gates. They're really doggy gates. And the original adjustment bar is made of a very light-duty wood that doesn't take too much stress before it breaks. The example on the bottom is the duplicate version made in-shop (since a replacement gate is no small expenditure!)
