During my first full-time church job, the organ builder, a very dear man, built me a rear-view mirror for me. It was like a periscope, allowing me to see above the communion curtain at what was taking place in church behind me. He fashoined the base from a former organ bench, and the upright was a pedal key! Unfortunately, it broke in transit to Nashville, but I kept the pieces in hopes of putting it back together again. Now that it's fixed, I use it for weddings/funerals when I need to keep an eye on center-aisle happenings.
