Here's another insert designed to work with the combination blade that's on the saw most of the time. Because the work is supported all around the cut, tearout is minimized/eliminated, resulting in a much cleaner cut. The rough piece of 2x4 to the side of the opening (above the opening in this photo) is clamped down on the insert to keep it from moving during the initial cut through the insert.
