Oscar Mayer Wienermobile

One of the Wienermobiles (there are c. 11 of them in current circulation) made a stop in Bowling Green on a Sunday afternoon. The drivers are trained by a SWAT team driver in defensive driving! And their "tenure" is for one year, during which they criss-cross the country. Here are some pix of the insides and outsides. The drivers are armed with lots of wiener puns and they seem to enjoy what they're doing. Apparently, they're housed for a few days in one location (this one was staying in the Nashville/Brentwood area) and run out to several locations from there before driving to another central point. The drivers are teamed up as a pair for their year together. Seemed like a fun way to take a year off and see the country!
(I don't think they're allowed to tell me what kind of gas mileage they get - but they do have a pun ready for that as well!) I'm posting this a month or so after all of the Wienermobiles got together for a rather celebrated race at the Brickyard (site of the Indianapolis 500). To keep them straight, all of them have names, which you can find on their license plate - this one was Yummy. All of the current 'mobiles were built by the same shop, but there have been several firms that have built them through the years. This particular day, this mobile was parked outside the Kroger closest to where we live.
